Angie's New House € I Äé

Angie's New House is gemaakt op basis van zeven letters die het logo van een bouwbedrijf vormen. Een vriendin van een collega schreef een scriptie voor dit bedrijf en zocht een font waarmee ze tekst in de vormgeving van het logo kon schrijven. Een goed lijkend lettertype bleek niet makkelijk te vinden, dus maakte ik er een voor haar. Angie's New House is based on the seven letters in the logo of a building company. A friend of a co-worker was writing a paper for this company. She was looking for a font which allowed her to write short headings that looked like the logo. A font with good similarity wasn't readily available, so I made one for her. |

In september 2005 heeft Damien Gosset uit Parijs, Frankrijk, deze twee lettertypen gemaakt op basis van Angie's New House. "...I tried to ligature every letter because I really like Angie's New House, but I thought it was a kind of lack in your font", aldus Damien. Met zijn toestemming zijn de twee varianten van Damiens BeijingWigoWhat ook hier beschikbaar. In September 2005, Damien Gosset from Paris, France, produced these two fonts using Angie's New House as a template "...I tried to ligature every letter because I really like Angie's New House, but I thought it was a kind of lack in your font", according to Damien. The two variations of Damien's BeijingWigoWhat are available here for download by kind permission. |

In september 2005 heeft Damien Gosset uit Parijs, Frankrijk, Angie's New House nogmaals onder handen genomen (zie ook zijn BeijingWigoWhat hierboven), met dit fantastische retrostijl lettertype als resultaat. Damien is ook grafisch artiest; een voorbeeld van zijn werk, waarin het gebruik van deze twee elkaar aanvullende lettertypen wordt uitgelegd, is in de download inbegrepen. Met zijn toestemming is Damiens Coin Locker Datura set van twee lettertypen hier beschikbaar. In September 2005, Damien Gosset from Paris, France, took Angie's New House once again (like he did for BeijingWigoWhat, see above) and produced this fantastic retro style font. Damien is a graphics artist as well; an example of his work, explaining the use of these two complementary fonts, is contained inside the download. Hard Compound is de helft van een set (de andere helft is Soft Compound, zie beneden). De set is een experiment: twee fonts met dezelfde afmetingen en basisvormen, waarbij de lettervormen bij de een (Hard Compound) hoekig zijn, en bij de ander (Soft Compound) afgerond. De naam is een term uit de Formule 1: het is de benaming voor een materiaalsoort voor banden. Hard Compound is one half of a set (the other half being Soft Compound, see below). The set is an experiment: two fonts with identical metrics and basic shapes, with the glyphs of one (Hard Compound) being angular, and of the other (Soft Compound) rounded. The name comes from Formula 1 racing: it's a certain mixture of material for tyres. |

Kenteken Δ

Kenteken is mijn eigen interpretatie van het lettertype op de Nederlandse kentekenplaten. Omdat ik nergens een 'officiële' versie van dit lettertype als computerfont kon vinden, heb ik het zelf maar gemaakt. Het font bevat diverse karakters om tekst te maken die er als een levensecht of minder levensecht kenteken uitziet. Lees de in de download bijgesloten PDF voor een korte gebruiksaanwijzing. Kenteken ("Licence Plate") is my own interpretation of the font used on car licence plates in The Netherlands. I couldn't find an 'official' version of this font for use on computers anywhere, so I made it myself. The font contains several glyphs to produce text that looks remarkably like a real - or less than real - licence plate. Read the PDF file included in each download. It contains a short manual for use (in Dutch, but you can look at the pretty pictures...) |

(Helleborus orientalis) Deze aantrekkelijke kleine winterharder wordt bijzonder gewaardeerd voor het fijne blad en de attractieve winterbloei. Hij is gemakkelijk te kweken en is normaal gesproken ongevoelig voor ziekten. In gebieden waar de bodem bevriest zal een midwinterdooi zorgen voor een bijzonder aangename bloemenpracht. De bloemen staan lang, en blijven mooi terwijl ze langzaam verdwijnen. WAARSCHUWING: Alle delen van deze plant zijn zeer giftig. Uit de buurt van huisdieren en kinderen houden. (Floridata) Lenten rose (Helleborus orientalis) This attractive little evergreen is especially valued for its fine foliage and for the novelty of mid-winter blooms. It is easy to grow and is normally not bothered by pests. In areas where the soil freezes, a midwinter thaw will bring a much appreciated floral display. The flowers are long-lasting and remain beautiful as they slowly fade. WARNING: All parts of this plant are reported to be highly toxic. Keep from pets and children. (Floridata) |

SquareWise €

SquareWise is mijn interpretatie van een font dat ik vond in een catalogus van afwrijfletters uit 1982. Daar heet het lettertype 'Square'. Ik kon geen digitale versie vinden, dus heb ik het zelf maar gemaakt. Doordat een groot aantal karakters niet in het voorbeeld zaten, heeft dit lettertype een beperkte karakterset. SquareWise is my interpretation of a font I found in a catalogue of dry transfer lettering from 1982. There it's called 'Square'. I couldn't find a digital version, so I had to make it myself. Because the sample didn't provide that many characters, this font has a limited character set.

TeleTekst is geïnspireerd door de grove grafische mogelijkheden van teletekst op televisie. TeleTekst draws it's inspiration from the crude graphical capabilities of the Teletext (a.k.a. Ceefax) system on television. |
